Araucaria (scientific name: Araucaria angustifolia)
is the dominant tree species of the mixed tropical forest, occurring mainly in the southern region of Brazil,
mainly in the state of Paraná, but also found in the east and south of the state of São Paulo,
south of the state of Minas Gerais, mainly in Serra da Mantiqueira,
in the mountainous region of the state of Rio de Janeiro and in small parts of Argentina and Paraguay,
