[Fishing & Aquaculture] How To Breed & Care For Salmon & Trouts

This tutorial is about aquaculture. We will show you how to breed and sell trout and salmon.

What Is Special About Salmon And Trouts

• You breed young fish in a young fish breeding.
• Adult salmon are only bred in offshore aquaculture facilities in large open waters.
• Adult trouts can be raised in offshore aquacultures OR a fish lake placed on your property.
• Offshore aquaculture facilities are usually only accessible by boat.

Feeding Options

You can either buy pre-made fish food at the dealer or produce it yourself. Here is a step by step guide:

• Purchase the fish food factory: Either buy a pre-placed production facility or place a factory on one of your plots of land.
• Deliver the materials: To produce fish feed, you need flour, soybeans, and oil. It doesn't matter whether you use olive, canola, rice, or sunflower oil.
• Activate production: Open the production chain menu and activate the production of the respective feed.
• Feed your fish: The factory will soon start producing the first feed. Load it onto a truck and take it to your young fish breeding, fish lake, or offshore aquaculture facility.

What You Need For Pisciculture

• Tractor with a front loader and pallet fork: To carry a trailer and load resources.
• Trailer: To transport the fish and feed.
• Young fish breeding: To breed small fishies. 
• Forklift: To load and unload the cargo vessel.
• Cargo vessel: To transport resources to the offshore aquaculture and back again. 
• Offshore aquaculture: To breed adult trouts and salmon. If you only want to breed trouts, you can also use a fish lake. This makes the forklift and offshore aquaculture unnecessary.

Using A Fish Lake

• Young fish breeding: Place the young fish breeding and deliver fish food. Then activate the breeding of trouts in the production chain menu.
• Fish lake: Bring young trout to a fish lake. Optional: Deliver fish food here as well. Activate breeding in the production chain menu.
• Sale: Choose a point of sale and deliver the fish there.

Using An Offshore Aquaculture

• Young fish breeding: Place the young fish breeding and deliver fish food. Then activate the breeding of salmons or trouts in the production chain menu.
• Cargo vessel: Load the ship with enough young salmon or trouts and feed. Then sail to the offshore aquaculture facility and unload the respective resources.
• Offshore aquaculture: Activate breeding for the respective fish species you want in the production chain menu. 
• Cargo ship: Then reload the cargo ship at the offshore aquaculture loading bay with the grown fish. Now you can transport them ashore.
• Sale: Choose a point of sale and deliver the fish there.

How To Use The Crane Of The Cargo Vessel

• Purchase: Cargo vessels are not available from the usual vehicle dealer. There is a special boat store at the harbor.
• Boarding: Jump onto the vessel or switch using your vehicle rotation to board and use the boat. Drive the cargo vessel to the pier at the harbor and lower the loading ramp.
• Loading: Use a forklift to maneuver the pallets from the trailer onto the ship. It is best to place them in the designated loading areas. Then tighten the safety straps to prevent your valuable cargo from sinking into the sea. The forklift truck remains on the shore.
• Drive to your destination: Drive the cargo vessel to your desired destination. Once you arrive, start with unloading your goods. 
• Use the crane: Extend the crane. Then switch from the driver's cab to the crane at the touch of a button, or stand next to the crane to hop in. Maneuver the crane over the respective pallet. When the grab arm is correctly positioned, green safety straps will appear. Now you can connect the crane to the object. Then move the crane to the desired location.
• Dropping objects: Have you got the pallet where you want it? Then simply press the corresponding button to drop it, and you're done!
