Ready for Catuaí? Map Preview - Beans & Alpacas Expansion

Welcome to Catuaí! With Farming Simulator 25: Beans & Alpacas, we're taking you to a new map inspired by the rural landscapes of Brazil. Wide, rolling hills meet tropical vegetation, while a winding river cuts through the region and connects farms, production sites, and a lively village. The result required a lot of effort to ensure that this map is as unique as it could be. Let's take a final tour before launch!

Rivers, Rainforest & Red Soil

A Landscape Built Around the Region

Starting from your first farm, a scenic view opens up all around you: The landscape is dominated by broad hills stretching into the distance, while a river winds through almost the entire map. Wooden bridges connect the roads across the water and lead you deeper into the jungle and towards the surrounding farms.

One feature immediately gives Catuaí its distinctive look: terra roxa, that's how you call the iron-oxide-rich red soil characteristic of the region. Add dense Atlantic rainforest, new trees and bushes, coffee plantations on the hillsides, and plenty of regional details, and you've got a landscape with a character of its own.

The terrain also plays an important part in the way the new crops fit into the map. Coffee plantations, for example, feel right at home on Catuaí's slopes, surrounded by red earth, dense vegetation, and long views across the countryside.

Along the way, you'll encounter regional details such as compacted earth walls, new vegetation, and infrastructure inspired by Brazil. Even the roads received special attention, including new high-resolution surfaces and characteristic details such as hexagonal paving stones around the village.

From the Farm to the Village

Plenty of Places to Visit & Work

Your starter farm comes with its own farmhouse and a selection of vehicles to get you going. From there, the roads lead towards coffee-growing hills, production facilities, the rainforest, and eventually the village at the center of local activity. Oh, and mind the free-roaming chicken around the farm!

There are two gas stations on Catuaí, with the larger one located in the village. You'll also find a variety of production and service points there and around the surrounding area, including a spinnery, logistics center, paper mill, oil refinery, animal dealer, and vehicle dealer.

Several new production sites are closely connected to the additions in Beans & Alpacas. Coffee processing facilities are spread across the map, while another new production chain revolves around paint. At the Paint Factory, dye and resin are turned into paint, with several different materials available for producing the dye.

When the Rain Comes

Dry Season Meets Rainy Season

Catuaí doesn't experience the snowy winter you know from some other maps. Instead, the climate is characterized by a dry season and a rainy season.

When the rain starts falling, the map visibly reacts. Puddles form on roads and concrete surfaces, the red soil absorbs water and becomes noticeably darker, and asphalt changes appearance as it gets wet.

Different building materials react differently as well. Porous brickwork absorbs moisture and changes color, while surfaces such as metal develop a more reflective layer of water. Combined with the lush vegetation and distinctive soil, the rainy season gives Catuaí a noticeably different atmosphere.

Buildings That Show Their Age

Freshly Painted or Nicely Weathered?

Some buildings around Catuaí visibly change as time passes. Dirt accumulates, paint begins to wear away, and façades gradually develop a more weathered appearance.

The same system applies to the six new farmhouses included with the expansion. Some are already placed around the map with a certain amount of age, while a farmhouse newly placed through the construction menu naturally starts with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you prefer a clean look or a more rustic farmstead is up to you. You can leave the weathering as it is or supply paint and freshen things up again.

Wildlife Around Catuaí

Keep an Eye Out for Parrots & Caimans

The lush surroundings of Catuaí aren't just filled with new trees and bushes. Keep your eyes open while driving through Catuaí: Regional wildlife adds even more life to the landscape, with parrots and caimans that you can encounter while exploring the map. Why don't you go near them to find out whether the crocodiles bite or not? Spoiler: they don't. We like to keep our age rating.

Museum, Research Station & Hiking Spots

Learn More About the Region

There's quite a lot to explore and see. Venture towards the edge of the map and you'll find another construction project hidden among the rainforest: a research station built in a traditional style with wooden construction and a thatched roof.

Step inside and you'll find information about Catuaí and the region that inspired it. Posters cover topics including local trees and bushes, sugarcane, coffee, alpacas, traditional instruments, and other regional characteristics.

A museum in town also lets you put a dinosaur on display out front. It also doesn't bite. You need to find its bones all over Catuaí to rebuild the skeleton.

If you just go on a hike, you will sooner or later find many other nice spots. Frome some of them, you can pretty much observe the fruits of your labor in the distance.
