Modding Contest | Create a Mod for Farming Simulator 25 and win!

Do you have an unconventional idea for a map or a bold vision for a futuristic machine? Now is your time to bring it to life: Participate in the Modding Contest and win prizes from a prize pool worth over €30,000.

Before you jump into development, take a moment to answer a few key questions that help you to outline a goal:

• What do you want to create?
• Which category does your project fit into?
• Why should players download your mod?
• What makes your idea stand out?
• Is your idea feasible?

Once you have a solid concept, it's time to start. If you need technical help, be sure to visit the GIANTS Developer Network and check out our Discord server. There, you find plenty of information and people willing to assist.

Let's start with the contest timeline! With the publication of this article, the first phase officially begins: Planning your mod.

• Submission: from November 16th to January 15th (Deadline: 23:59)
• During this submission phase, we'll be collecting all your creations
• Take the time to polish your mod, but don't wait until the very last minute!
• Setup Phase: we screen every submission, and check if they adhere to the rules (see below)
• Voting Phase: March 15th to April 6th
• Awarding winners: April 2027

Once the submission period has ended, we'll review and prepare every entry. This includes testing each submitted mod to ensure it works as intended and is ready for the next phase of the contest. 

During the voting phase, all eligible entries will be evaluated by a selected jury made up of content creators, experienced modders, GIANTS Software employees, and you, the community. As soon as the voting process is completed, we present the winners in a live stream in April! 

There are four competition categories, each offering a unique opportunity to showcase your skills. Here's what you can enter:

Best Mod

This category includes all non-map modifications, such as vehicles, implements, placeables, gameplay features, and other gameplay-enhancing content.

Best Map

Show us your vision of the ultimate Farming Simulator 25 map! Entries must be original maps created specifically for this contest. Modifications or edits of existing maps are not eligible. However, the use of publicly available empty map templates is permitted.

Best Crossplay Mod

This category is for mods designed to work on all supported platforms. To qualify, entries must comply with all current ModHub console requirements and must not include scripts, features, or content that would prevent certification under console platform guidelines.

Volvo Future Construction Machines

The theme of this category is moving material. Think futuristic, think creative, and design a bold Volvo Construction Equipment concept that reimagines material handling!

Voting is split equally: 50% Community Vote and 50% Special Volvo Jury Vote, judged by a dedicated Volvo jury, separate from the one evaluating the other contest categories. 

What's a contest without great prizes? Winners will receive their share of a prize pool worth more than €30,000. These prizes are made possible thanks to the generous support of our sponsors.

The big question is: How are the winners selected?

The final results are determined by two equally weighted votes: one from the community and one from the jury. Each contributes 50% to the final score. You will be able to vote on our website when the time comes and submissions stand ready!

The jury consists of more than 20 members, including GIANTS Software employees, content creators, moderators, and experienced modders from around the world. Our goal was to assemble a jury that reflects the diversity and expertise of the Farming Simulator community.

Only if your mod adheres to the rules you can find in our official ruleset, it is eligible to compete in the contest. Rule violations will result in disqualification of the submission. The rules include age restrictions, technical requirements, the use of AI, and more. Only submit a mod to the contest if you have read the rules and guidelines!
